Promoting Girl-Child Education
To promote enrolment of children, particularly girls within the age bracket of 9 – 25 at primary, secondary and post-secondary stages, CGEEE launched its Annual Scholarship Programmes in January 2017. The core objective of the programmes is to promote enrolment and retention of girls in schools, who may have dropped out of school for various socio-economic reasons, including the inability of parents to afford the cost of education.
The Scheme seeks to provide enabling environment and incentive for girls, while providing relevant support and mentorship. The target beneficiaries are children from disadvantaged homes, orphans and vulnerable children in rural communities in Nigeria and across Africa.
CGEEE retains the right to determine the selection process, the number of beneficiaries per annum, in consultation with its implementation partners.
